Each DVITA token represents one vote in the election of the DVITA Council which is responsible for making decisions on the DVITA blockchain. DVITA holders should vote for candidates which represent their values and are capable of maintaining the health of the DVITA network

Any DVITA wallet address can register as a candidate to be elected in the Council.
A DVG fee is required to register candidacy. Candidates may be elected to the role of consensus node. Comprehensive knowledge of the DVITA blockchain is required to fulfil the responsibility as a council member.

The 21 council members are responsible for maintaining the health and liveliness of the DVITA network. Responsibilities include adjusting blockchain parameters, such as system fees, and electing oracle nodes.
